Professor Miranda Stewart – Branch Executive Committee Member

The IFA Australia Branch congratulates Prof Miranda Stewart on her appointment as the Vice-Chair of Global IFA’s Permanent Scientific Committee (PSC).

The main task of the PSC, a key IFA committee, is the development of IFA’s scientific programme. The PSC selects the topics and supervises the planning and implementation of the scientific work of IFA internationally.

Miranda is Professor of Law at the University of Melbourne Law School where she is Director of the Tax Group, is a Fellow at the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute at the Crawford School of Public Policy, The Australian National University, and is an International Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Business Taxation. Miranda researches, teaches and consults on a wide range of international and domestic tax law, policy and budget topics in Australia and globally.

Miranda is a member of the Branch’s Executive Committee, the Chair of the Melbourne 2026 Congress Organising Committee, a Branch representative on (and the former Chair of) the IFA Asia-Pacific Region Committee, and is a regular speaker and panellist for local and international IFA events.
