Speaker: Fiona Dillon
Fiona Dillon – Chief Tax Counsel (ATO) Fiona Dillon is the Chief Tax Counsel at the ATO. In this role, Fiona leads the resolution of the ATO’s most significant tax technical issues. Working predominantly in technical roles prior to this, Fiona has helped shape the strategic direction of the ATO’s Public Advice and Guidance, was a longstanding member of the ATO’s Public Ruling Panel and a member of the ATO’s General anti-avoidance rule Panel; as well as spending a number of years in private practice. For almost two years prior to her promotion to Deputy Commissioner Tax Counsel Network, Fiona served as Minister-Counsellor (Taxation) in the Australian delegation to the OECD based in Paris. In that role, she chaired the Joint International Taskforce on Information Sharing and Collaboration (JITSIC) on behalf of the Commissioner and represented Australia in other OECD taxation initiatives. Fiona is an admitted Australian legal tax practitioner and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Masters of Taxation. Earlier this year, in its recognition of 100 years of woman in tax, IFA named Fiona in its 68 leading woman in international tax globally.
Speaker: Aileen O’Carroll
Aileen O’Carroll (Pitcher Partners) Aileen O’Carroll is a Partner/Executive Director in the Tax Advisory division of Pitcher Partners Melbourne and heads up the firm’s transfer pricing service offering. Aileen has over 17 years consulting experience providing advice on a broad range of transfer pricing matters to clients across a range of different industries both in the United Kingdom and Australia. Prior to joining Pitcher Partners in 2016, she developed her transfer pricing expertise working as an adviser for over a decade at a Big 4 firm, and at NAB leading its global Country by Country reporting project. She advises clients on transfer pricing matters, including financing arrangements, business restructures, risk reviews, audit defence assistance, implementation and operationalisation of transfer pricing policies and other transfer pricing advisory and compliance matters. Aileen is a committee member on the Tax Institute of Australia and the Cambridge Forum for International Transfer Pricing Law. Recently, she has been assisting clients in their dealings with the ATO through their engagement programs including the Top 1000 program and the private group programs of the Top 500 and most recently the next 5000 programs.
Speaker: Premila Roe
Premila Roe (BHP) Premila Roe, CTA, of BHP Billiton is currently the Group Tax Officer for BHP and she has over 25 years of tax experience. Premila’s prior corporate experience was as the Head of Tax at AGL and then Optus. She commenced her career with the ATO before leaving to join Deloitte. She has a Bachelor of Laws and a Masters in Tax Law and she is a Chartered Tax Adviser.
