About the Panel Discussion
The Melbourne Centre for Commercial Law and the International Fiscal Association are proud to invite you to a conversation with Professor Georg Kofler. Georg KoflerProfessor Georg Kofler is a Professor of International Tax Law at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He has worked in the field of taxation, especially European and international taxation, for more than 25 years, and has written, taught and lectured extensively on a broad range of topics within the field, including tax treaty law, EU tax law, domestic and cross-border business taxation and corporate reorganisations, the constitutional framework for taxation and digitalisation. |

Ali NorooziProfessor Ali Noroozi is an Enterprise Professor of Taxation Law at Melbourne Law School and has joined the MCCL Taxation Law and Policy program. Prof Noroozi brings over 32 years of professional experience in the tax arena. He is well-known for his achievements as the Inspector-General of Taxation, a position he held for 10 years from 2008 to 2018. He has also been a partner or held other senior tax roles at large accounting and law firms in Australia and the United Kingdom. |

Tom IckeringillTom Ickeringill is a Tax Controversy Partner at Ernst & Young specialising in international tax, transfer pricing and anti-avoidance matters. Tom brings 15 years of professional experience from Australia and the United Kingdom and is a regular contributor to academic tax research, including as reporter for the IFA Congress in Berlin in 2022 (on Big Data and Tax) and as co-reporter for the IFA Congress in Lisbon in 2025 (on Tax Treaties and Source Taxation). |
